IAESTE stands for International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience. It is a committee established for academic, industrial and student interests. IAESTE has a National Committee in each country and various Local Committees under that serving for the cause of IAESTE. HISTORYIAESTE was formed in 1948 at Imperial College London. It was organized for the betterment of the students and to establish good friendly relations with different countries. IAESTE also aimed to understand the different cultures.
Since 1948, more than 80 countries have been a part of IAESTE and worldwide 300,000 trainees have been exchanged. Every year IAESTE exchanges around 7000 students. IAESTE helps the trainees getting a better understanding of the technical work and between different cultures. IAESTE-PAKISTANPakistan became a member of IAESTE in 1990.The National Secretary of IAESTE-PAKISTAN Dr. S. A. Hassan and the head office is located in Karachi. IAESTE-Pakistan is growing with time. More than 400 students have been offered internships worldwide. Pakistan has also erved a lot of foreign students in different universities and companies. IAESTE-ISLAMABADIAESTE-Islamabad has been initiated by Dr Arshad Ali, Director General of NUST-SEECS. Dr Arshad Ali has been working very efficiently for the IAESTE cause. IAESTE-ISLAMABAD aims to connect students with employers in foreign countries, provide university students technical experience and culturally enrich students.
